Overview 1, 4-Dioxylene-2, 5-hexandione is a cyclic ester produced by the dehydration of two molecules of glycolic acid. It is a monomer used to prepare polyglycolic acid (PGA).
Application
1, 4-dioxyl-2, 5-hexanedione is a cyclic ester produced by the dehydration of two molecules of glycolic acid, which can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
preparation: 50g of glycolic acid is weighed and put into a 500 ml double-mouth flask, then 0.05g of phenylalanine stannous catalyst (0.1wt%) is added, prepolymerized at normal pressure and 120 ℃ for 0.5h, then the temperature is increased to 160 ℃, vacuum water is removed through a vacuum distillation device, and the reaction is about 2h until anhydrous discharge is performed to obtain white oligomer. Then 1,4-dioxane -2,5-hexandione was collected by decompression lysis at 260 ℃, and 33.9g of crude 1,4-dioxane -2,5-hexandione was received for 5h. The yield of the product was 89%, and the melting point of the product was 90.6 ℃.
Uses As a degradable polymer material, it has important applications in the medical field, such as surgical sutures, artificial skin and blood vessels, bone fixation and repair, drug controlled release, tissue engineering, etc.
glycolide is abbreviated as GA, a biodegradable material with the molecular formula C4H4O4. As a polymeric monomer, it can not only homopolymerize to obtain polyglycolide, but also ring-opening copolymerization with other cyclic monomers to obtain random copolymers or block copolymers, which are used as biodegradable polymer materials One of them occupies an important position in the research and development of medical polymer materials, and has been applied in many fields such as surgical sutures, artificial skin and blood vessels, bone fixation and repair, drug controlled release, and tissue engineering.
