It has a smell similar to xylene. Soluble in hot ethanol, hot benzene, ether, acetone and carbon disulfide, soluble in benzene and chloroform, almost insoluble in water. Low toxicity, half lethal dose (mice, oral) 3120mg/kg. It's irritating.
