rh-7281 - Introduction
ZOXAMIDE(Benzoyl peroxide) is an organic peroxide compound with the chemical formula C14H10O4. It is a white crystalline solid, stable at room temperature. ZOXAMIDE has strong oxidizing and reducing properties.
ZOXAMIDE is mainly used in the following aspects:
1. As a topical drug in medicine and cosmetics: it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and can be used to treat skin diseases such as acne and acne.
2. As a foaming agent: ZOXAMIDE generates oxygen during thermal decomposition, and can be used as a foaming agent in polymers and rubber products, such as foam plastics, rubber foams, etc.
3. As a catalyst: ZOXAMIDE can be used as a free radical initiator and catalyst in organic synthesis reactions.
The preparation method of ZOXAMIDE generally has the following two kinds:
1. Benzoyl chloride reacts with phenyl hydroperoxide to generate ZOXAMIDE. The reaction formula is: C6H5COCl C6H5C(O)2h-> 2C6H5COOOC(O)C6H5 HCl.
2. Benzoyl chloride and hydrogen peroxide react to generate ZOXAMIDE. The reaction formula is: C6H5COCl H2O2 -> C6H5COOOC(O) c6h5hcl.
Note the following safety information when using ZOXAMIDE:
1. ZOXAMIDE is explosive and should be kept away from open flames, heat sources and oxidants.
2. Wear protective glasses, protective gloves and protective clothing during operation to avoid contact with skin and eyes.
3. Avoid inhalation of ZOXAMIDE dust or vapor, if accidentally inhaled, should quickly leave the contaminated area, and seek medical treatment.
4. Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms of poisoning from exposure or inhalation overdose occur.
5. Waste shall be disposed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and shall not be discharged at will.
