overview | ammonium stearate is dispersed in hot water, soluble in hot toluene, slightly soluble in ethanol and hot butyl acetate. Decompose before heating to boiling (110 ℃). It reacts with strong acid to produce stearic acid and the corresponding ammonium salt. It is made by the action of molten stearic acid and ammonium hydroxide. Used as a dispersant, emulsifier and thickener, and can also be used as a waterproof component for concrete and cement. |
preparation | (1) add the formula amount of stearic acid, sodium dodecyl sulfate and water in sequence in the reaction container, adjust the temperature to 10-25 ℃, after stirring evenly, add ammonia water, then adjust the stirring speed to 1200-1600 r/min, and stir until the stearic acid is completely melted and becomes liquid ammonium stearate with fluidity; (2) the ammonium stearate liquid prepared in step (2) is sucked into an emulsifying tank, and emulsified under the condition that the rotating speed of the emulsifying machine is 2600-3200 r/min until the color of the liquid becomes silvery-white metallic luster and the viscosity is ≤ 350cps, then standing for 1-2 hours, and then filtering to obtain ammonium stearate emulsion. |
use | can be used as emulsifier, dispersant, wetting agent, anti-wetting agent, etc. |
