tert-Butoxycarbonyl-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine - Introduction
BOC-L-3-Trifluoromethylphenylalanine is an organic compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance: BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine is a white solid.
2. Solubility: It can be dissolved in some organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide and ethyl acetate.
Use of BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine:
1. In biochemistry, BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine is used as a protecting group of amino acids to protect the amino functional groups of amino acids.
2. It can also be used as a synthetic intermediate of functional molecules with biological activity for the preparation of drugs, pesticides, etc.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine usually starts from phenylalanine. First, phenylalanine is reacted with BOC-iminomethyltrifluoroacetic anhydride to produce a BOC protecting group precursor of BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine. Then, the protecting group was removed by acid treatment to obtain the final target product, BOC-L-3-trifluoromethylphenylalanine.
Safety Information:
BOC-L-3-Trifluoromethylphenylalanine should be used with caution. During the operation, care should be taken to avoid inhalation, contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
