introduction | unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) is one of the three most widely used matrix resin materials in resin matrix composites. it has excellent comprehensive properties, good processing properties, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and electronic insulation properties, so it is widely used in automobile components, power engineering, chemical industry and other fields. |
Preparation | Biomass dibasic acid-based unsaturated polyester resin: Dai et al. synthesized a series of bio-based unsaturated polyesters derived from 2, 5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), itaconic acid (IA), succinic acid (SA) and 1, 3-propanediol (PD), the biobased non-volatile reactive diluent guaiacol methacrylate was used for curing. The results show that the thermal properties, bending strength and modulus of cured UPRs are greatly improved after the introduction of FDCA. The temperature of 5wt% of thermal weight loss reaches 330 ℃, and the bending strength and modulus reach 122.8MPa and 3521MPa respectively. Rorrer et al. combine the mucoconic acid of biomass with poly (ethylene succinate), poly (propylene glycol succinate), poly (butylene succinate) and poly (butylene adipate) Glycol ester) is introduced into the polyester through polycondensation reaction. Dai et al. used itaconic acid (20g,154mmol) and ethylene glycol (7.76g,0.125mol) with a molar ratio of 1.2:1, p-toluenesulfonic acid-hydrate (0.146g,0.5mol%(based on itaconic acid) as a prepolymerization catalyst, and 4-methoxyphenol (0.139g) as a polymerization inhibitor for free radical polymerization, 0.5wt%(based on the total amount of itaconic acid and diol)) was added to a four-neck round bottom flask equipped with a mechanical stirrer, a thermometer, a reflux condenser and a nitrogen inlet. The mixture was reacted at 160°C for 2 hours for prepolymerization to form oligomers. Then 0.028g of dibutyltin dilaurate (1wt% relative to the total weight of the reactants) was added as a polycondensation catalyst. After reacting the oligomer at 160°C for 6 hours, the target resin was obtained by cooling to 100°C under a vacuum of 0.09-0.095MPa. |
application | used for spinning polyester fiber it is an ideal colorant for coloring polyester filament and polyester staple fiber before spinning it is widely used in epoxy/polyester mixed coatings, making it have excellent performance in decoration, construction and storage stability |
