use | trichloroacetic anhydride can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis, such as the synthesis of glibenclamide, which is a western medicine with obvious hypoglycemic effect. Used to treat type II diabetes. As of 2007, it is one of the two main oral hypoglycemic drugs in the Pharmacopoeia of the World Health Organization. In addition, recent investigations have shown that glibenclamide improves animal seizure models by preventing brain swelling. |
