Use | is a cleaning reagent for the electronics industry It is usually used as an ion-pair mobile phase in chromatography It is only used to determine anions by MPIC of ion chromatography. If it is used in HPLC, the pH value must be adjusted because it is alkaline. |
production method | 40g of tetra-n-butyl iodide is dissolved into 90 ml of absolute methanol, 20g of pure silver oxide in fine powder form is added, sealed and shaken violently for 1 hour. Take a few milliliters of the mixture and centrifuge to check whether it contains I-. If it is a positive test, add 2 grams of silver oxide and oscillate for another 30 minutes. If it is a negative test, the mixture is filtered through a fine sand core funnel, rinse the reaction bottle and funnel with 3 parts of 50ml dry bath benzene, and the lotion is incorporated into the filtrate. Blow with pure nitrogen for 5 minutes during storage to prevent absorption of water vapor and carbon dioxide. In the above reaction, ethanol can be used to replace methanol, but tetra-n-butyl iodide is relatively stable in methanol. |
