四甲基三乙酸铵 - Introduction
Tetramethyltriacetoxyammonium borohydride (abbreviated as TMEDA-BH3) is an organometallic compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance: The TMEDA-BH3 is a white crystalline solid.
2. Solubility: Soluble in non-polar solvents such as n-heptane, dichloromethane, etc., insoluble in water.
3. Stability: The TMEDA-BH3 is relatively stable, but it will slowly oxidize and turn yellow in the air.
The main use of TMEDA-BH3 is as a reducing agent and catalyst in organic synthesis. It can react with halogenated hydrocarbons to generate the corresponding boron alcohol compounds, and can reduce carbonyl compounds (such as ketones, aldehydes) to the corresponding alcohols in organic synthesis reactions. In addition, TMEDA-BH3 can be used as complexing agents in organometallic chemistry.
The preparation TMEDA-BH3 is usually made by reacting TMEDA (tetramethylethylenediamine) with ammonium triacetoxyborohydride. The reaction is generally carried out under an inert atmosphere at a relatively low temperature in an organic solvent.
For safety information, TMEDA-BH3 should be treated as organometallic compounds and follow relevant safety procedures. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and avoid inhaling dust or gas. Wear suitable personal protective equipment such as lab gloves and goggles during use. In addition, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and flammable materials.
