| Introduction | Tetraphenylphosphine bromide is a phase transfer catalyst (Phase transfer catalyst). The application is a new technology developed in the past two decades. It overcomes the shortcomings of the need for polar aprotic solvents in heterogeneous organic synthesis, and can make the heterogeneous reaction proceed under relatively mild conditions, speed up the reaction rate and increase the yield, therefore, it has greatly promoted the development of organic synthesis. |
| preparation | 786g of triphenylphosphorus, 702g of benzene bromide and 196g of catalyst (including 25g of nickel chloride and 171g of zinc chloride) are sequentially added to the 5L reaction kettle, reacted at 190°C for 10 to 12h, then cooled to 100°C, then pure water is added to the reaction kettle, the reaction solution is kept warm for 3h, then allowed to stand until stratified, and then separated, the organic phase is recovered and used for the next batch of reuse; the water phase is recovered and further stirred and cooled to room temperature, then filtered and washed until the catalyst ions are not detected in the fresh filtrate, the resulting filtrate is collected, and the water is evaporated to dry and the catalyst is recovered. In addition, the obtained filter cake was dried at 70~140°C to obtain 982g of white tetraphenylphosphorus bromide, the product yield was 82%, the catalyst recovery rate was 92%, and the bromobenzene recovery rate was 96%. |
