Diethyl-3, 5-dimethoxybenzyl phosphate, also known as BEMP, is an organic phosphate ester compound. Its chemical formula is (C8H13O2)2P(O) and its molecular weight is 322.24.
BEMP is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a benzene flavor. It has good solubility and is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.
BEMP is mainly used for fungicides, nitrification inhibitors and catalysts in organic synthesis. In agriculture, BEMP is used as a plant leaf protectant for spraying on leaves to protect plants from pathogens. In the field of chemical synthesis, BEMP is an important catalyst, which can be used to catalyze esterification, dehydration reaction and phosphorylation reaction in the process of synthesis.
The preparation method of BEMP is mainly obtained by esterification reaction. The corresponding benzyl alcohol can be esterified with diethylphosphoramidate to give BEMP. The specific experimental operating conditions need to be adjusted according to the actual situation.
