Triphenylsilanethiol (also known as thiotriphenylsilane) is an organic sulfur compound with the chemical formula C18H16SSi. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:

-Molecular weight of 292.49g/mol;
-Soluble in organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether and petroleum ether;
-Stable in air, but can react with oxygen to generate disulfide.

- Triphenylsilanethiol is commonly used as a sulfurization reagent in organic synthesis;
-can be used for the synthesis of organic sulfides, and can be used as a catalyst precursor;
-widely used in drug synthesis, dye synthesis and materials science.
Method:
Triphenylsilanethiol can usually be prepared by the following methods:
-can be obtained by the reaction of triphenylsilane chloride and sodium sulfide in a solvent;
-It can also be obtained by reacting triphenylsilanol with hydrogen sulfide under acidic conditions.
Safety Information:
- Triphenylsilanethiol is irritating and should avoid contact with skin and eyes;
-Wear chemical protective gloves, protective glasses and protective mask during operation;
-avoid inhalation of its vapor, need to operate in a well-ventilated place;
-should be sealed in use, away from oxidants and fire sources;
-If ingested or inhaled, seek medical attention immediately.
