Method:
- 5-Ethylbenzo[d]oxazol-2(3H)-one can be prepared by the oxidation reaction of picric acid. First, picric acid undergoes an oxidation reaction in the presence of carbonate to give a bitter acid anhydride. The bitter anhydride is then reacted with ethylaniline to produce 5-Ethylbenzo[d]oxazol-2(3H)-one.
