Method:
3-Chloro-2,4-difluorobenzoic acid can be synthesized by the following steps:
First, the reaction between 2,4-difluorotoluene and thionyl chloride is carried out in a mixed solvent of thionyl chloride/dimethylformamide. The reaction produces 2,4-difluorophenylsulfone.
2. Then, 2,4-difluorophenylsulphone is converted into 2,4-difluorobenzoic acid by hydrolysis reaction.
3. Finally, on the basis of 2,4-difluorobenzoic acid, hydrogen chloride was added to react to obtain 3-Chloro-2,4-difluorobenzoic acid.
