Overview butyl hydrazide scientific name N-dimethylaminobutyric acid, common name daminoxide. It is a white crystal with a melting point of 154-156 °c. Soluble in acetone, methanol, insoluble in lower hydrocarbons. Obtained from the reaction of succinic anhydride with dimethylhydrazine.
