The main use of
Methyl (R)-(-)-mandelate is as an ingredient in food and beverage flavors. It can be used for the deployment of fruit flavors, such as cherry, apricot, peach and other flavors. In addition, it can also be used as an additive in perfumes and daily chemical products.
The preparation of Methyl (R)-(-)-mandelate can be obtained by reacting mandelol with methanol. The reaction is generally carried out under acidic conditions, usually using sulfuric acid or acetic acid as a catalyst.
Methyl (R)-(-)-mandelate has high safety, but because it is a chemical, it is still necessary to pay attention to safe use. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
