The wax substances attached to many waterbird feathers are composed of fatty acids and fatty alcohols with methyl branched chains. Isostearic acid not only has the characteristics of linear unsaturated fatty acids, but also has the characteristics of saturated fatty acids. It is liquid at room temperature and has good antioxidant properties. Therefore, isostearic acid is an important chemical intermediate with good commercial value. It is widely used in lubricating base oil, metal cleaning agent, paint, cosmetics and other fields. |
