nature:

Purpose:
Mainly used as a spice ingredient, it has a strong and unique cherry and strawberry aroma.
Manufacturing method:
One method for preparing 5-hydroxy-4-methyl-2 (5H) - furanone is through the reaction of 2,5-dichloromethylfuran with ammonium acetate, followed by a series of hydrolysis, rearrangement, and dehydration steps.
