Physical and Chemical PropertiesChemical properties yellow to gray green paste. Soluble in water, soluble in ether and ethanol. It decomposes with increasing temperature. It easily turns green in the air and in light. Its solution encounters copper and iron ions and causes decomposition. It does not burn or explode at room temperature, but it cannot be dried to prevent accidents. It has a stimulating effect on the eyes, nose and respiratory tract.
UseMainly used for the production of diazonium printing paper, and cotton fabric dyeing and printing. It is advisable to use color matching.

4477-28-5 - Production method

two methods, p-nitrochlorobenzene method and diphenylamine method, are used in China. 1. The p-nitrochlorobenzene method is obtained by condensation of p-nitrochlorobenzene with aniline and salicylic acid, then reduced and distilled by sodium sulfide, and then treated by hydrochloric acid into salt, then filtered and dried. 2. Diphenylamine method is obtained by coupling diphenylamine and aniline diazonium salt, and then hydrolytic reduction, salt formation, re-filtration and drying.
