Bioactive Okanin is an active ingredient of Coreopsis tinctoria. Okanin attenuates LPS-induced activation of microglia by inhibiting TLR4/NF-& kappa;B signaling pathway.
Target
TLR4
p65
In vitro study
Okanin significantly inhibits LPS-induced TLR4 expression in BV-2 cells. Okanin inhibits the translocation of the NF-κ B p65 subunit from the cytosol to the nucleus. Okanin significantly suppresses LPS-induced iNOS expression and also inhibites IL-6 and TNF-α production and mRNA expression in LPS-stimulated BV-2 cells.
