Production method | Let the metal gallium react with sulfuric acid at room temperature or under heating conditions to obtain an aqueous solution of gallium sulfate. Or the newly prepared gallium hydroxide Ga(OH)3 can be precipitated and dissolved in a 2mol/L sulfuric acid solution to prepare an aqueous solution of gallium sulfate. The aqueous solution of gallium sulfate is concentrated at a temperature of 60-70°C, the resulting concentrated solution is cooled, and an ethanol/ether mixture is added to it to obtain an octahedral crystal of gallium sulfate Ga2(SO4) 3.18H2O. The gallium hydroxide precipitate used in the reaction can be prepared by adding ammonia to the aqueous solution of the trivalent gallium salt. In order to prevent the generated gallium hydroxide precipitation from dissolving, care should be taken not to add excessive ammonia. In order to be easy to filter, it can be properly heated during settling. |
