18028-96-1 - Introduction
Is an organosilicon compound with the chemical formula (CH3)2CHSi(CH3) cl2. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
is a colorless to yellow liquid with a pungent odor. It can be distilled at room temperature, has a lower vapor pressure and a higher boiling point. It is insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in organic solvents. This compound is unstable and decomposes by heat. It can undergo a hydrolysis reaction to produce dichloroisobutene and dimethiconol.
Use:
It is often used as a starting material in the synthesis of silicones. It can be used as a silicon source in organic synthesis and participate in organic synthesis reactions. In addition, the compound can also be used as an additive in coatings, paints and adhesives to improve their coating properties and wear resistance.
Method:
It can be obtained by reacting isobutylene and dichloromethane with a catalyst such as copper fluoride under appropriate conditions. The reaction will produce dichloroisobutylmethylsilene, and the compound can be hydrolyzed to obtain the target product.
Safety Information:
It is an organic silicon compound. Pay attention to the following safety matters when using it:
1. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Wear appropriate protective clothing, gloves and glasses.
2. Operate in a well-ventilated place to avoid inhaling its vapor.
3. Avoid contact with oxidants and strong acids to prevent possible violent reactions.
4. During storage and transportation, keep away from fire and high temperature to avoid violent vibration and impact.
5. If splashed on the skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
6. Please dispose of waste and containers according to appropriate disposal methods to protect the environment.
IMPORTANT: The above information is for reference only and should not be used as a specific guide for the use and handling of this compound. In actual operation, please refer to the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and technical guidelines, and follow appropriate safe operating procedures.
