1822-53-3 - Introduction
Pyridin-4-Yl-Methanethiol(4-Pyridinemethanethiol) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H7NS. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a strong ammonia odor.
Pyridin-4-Yl-Methanethiol are widely used in organic synthesis. It can be used as a strong acid for catalyzing different organic reactions such as esterification, acylation and amidation. In addition, it can also be used as an intermediate of electronic materials for the preparation of organic semiconductor materials.
There are two main methods of preparing Pyridin-4-Yl-Methanethiol. One is by 4-pyridine formaldehyde and hydrogen sodium sulfate reaction, 4-pyridine methyl sodium sulfate is generated, and then through the reduction reaction to obtain the target product. The other is through the reaction of methyl 4-pyridinecarboxylate with sodium hydrogen sulfate to generate the corresponding ester, which is then reduced to obtain the product.
Need to pay attention to safety when using Pyridin-4-Yl-Methanethiol. It is an irritating chemical that has an irritating effect on the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Direct contact with skin and eyes must be avoided, and good ventilation must be maintained during the operation. When storing and handling, it should be placed in a closed container, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
