3-chloro-2-methylbiphenyl is prepared by adding metal magnesium and tetrahydrofuran in the reactor, and then adding a tetrahydrofuran solution of 2, 6-dichlorotoluene dropwise to this solution, and the mixed solution is refluxed for 3h After cooling, the corresponding Grignard reagent is obtained.
Add magnesium chloride (MgCl2) as a catalyst, tetrahydrofuran and bromobenzene in the reactor, add the above Grignard reagent dropwise in the mixed solution, maintain the temperature at 50~55 ℃ under the protection of nitrogen, heat the mixture to 55 ℃ after the dropwise addition, maintain it for 2 hours, cool it to room temperature, add hydrochloric acid to acidify, delaminate, dry the oil layer, dedissolve, and then, the fraction of 106~108 ℃/267Pa was collected as 3-chloro-2-methylbiphenyl.
