biological activity | Cafestol is one of the main components of coffee and a diterpene unique to coffee. Cafestol, an ERK inhibitor against AP-1 targeting activity, inhibits PGE2 production and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 mRNA expression in LGE-activated RAW264.7 cells. Cafestol strongly inhibit the production of PGE2 by inhibiting NF-kB activation pathway. Cafestol play beneficial effects due to various biological activities, such as chemoprevention, anti-tumor, liver protection, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. |
