5-METHOXYBENZIMIDAZOLE - Introduction
5-Methoxybenzimidazole(5-Methoxybenzimidazole) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H8N2O. It is a white crystalline solid, stable at room temperature.
Nature:
1. melting point: 136-138 ℃.
2. Insoluble in water at room temperature, slightly soluble in hot and cold benzene, dichloromethane and ether solvents.
3. It is a weak base, soluble in acidic solution.
Use:
1.5-Methoxybenzimidazole can be used as a synthetic starting material for antifungal and antiviral drugs.
2. It can also be used to synthesize biologically active compounds, such as fungicides, drug intermediates, etc.
Preparation Method:
A common preparation method is to react benzimidazole with methanesulfonic acid to generate 5-methylbenzimidazole, and then perform a methyl etherification reaction to obtain 5-Methoxybenzimidazole.
