5127-64-0 - Introduction
(-)-Gallocatechin-3-gallate ((-)-GCg) is a natural catechin derivative, which belongs to the class of tea polyphenols. (-)-GCg is the main part of flavonoids in tea, especially in green tea.
Nature:
(-)-GCg is a colorless crystalline solid with a bitter taste and burning throat. It is poorly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols or ether.
Use:
(-)-GCg has a variety of biological activities and pharmacological effects, and is widely used in medicine and health care products. It is considered to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiviral and hypolipidemic effects. As well as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and obesity have a certain role in the prevention and adjuvant treatment.
Method:
(-)-GCg is mainly extracted from tea. In General, tea polyphenols are extracted by water extraction of tea leaves, and then (-)-GCg is obtained by separation and purification.
Safety Information:
(-)-GCg is generally considered to be less toxic. However, at high doses or long-term use, it may still cause some adverse reactions. Such as indigestion, stomach discomfort, headache, insomnia, etc. In addition, (-)-GCg should be used with caution in patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy because of its anticoagulant effect.
Overall,(-)-GCg is a biologically active substance with a variety of potential uses in medicine and healthcare. Dose and time control should be considered during use, and relevant safety guidelines should be followed to reduce the risk of possible adverse reactions.
