Physical and Chemical Properties | Light amber glassy solid resin of medium hardness. No peculiar smell, bitter taste. Soluble in acetone and benzene, insoluble in water and ethanol. The hydrogenated (or partially hydrogenated) rosin glyceride not only overcomes the bitter taste of the unhydrogenated rosin glyceride, but also reduces the oxygen absorption and makes it have good antioxidant stability, thereby extending the shelf life of the finished product. For example, under the same conditions of 2.1MPa pressure and 25 ℃, the weight gain (oxygen absorption%) after keeping in oxygen for 168h; Rosin is 9.1, rosin glyceride is 5.1, hydrogenated rosin is 0.2, and hydrogenated rosin glyceride is 0.1. Gum sugar made of hydrogenated rosin glyceride has the same taste after long-term storage (within two years), and can still remain soft and delicate, while the taste made of rosin glyceride becomes bitter and hard after 3 to 4 months. |
