PMA - Introduction
Phenylmercuric acetate is an organic mercury compound with the chemical formula C8H8HgO2. It is a colorless or yellowish crystalline substance with a special odor. Phenylmercuric acetate are insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and benzene.
Phenylmercuric acetate are often used as preservatives, fungicides, fungicides and mildewcides. It can be added to products such as cosmetics, coatings, wood preservatives, plastics and textiles to extend their lifespan and prevent microbial contamination.
