Amidephrine is a selective agonist of alpha 1-adrenoceptor. Amidephrine inhibits inhibits monopulse field contraction of the vas deferens epithelium and prostate gland.

Amidephrine (10-100 nM) inhibits monopulse field contraction dose-dependently in the epithelium and prostate of deferens in young adult and old rats with EC50 values of 6.79-6.48μM and 6.17-6.18μM, respectively[1].
